Moon Township, Pa. – The
Robert Morris University rowing team continued its fall season Saturday by hosting its first regatta from the McPhail Boathouse with the Yinzer Cup on Neville Island.
The RMU Varsity 4 highlighted the first-ever event, taking first among 11 entries with a time of 11:50.957. The Colonials outlasted West Virginia, who crossed the finish line in 11:51.890.
Serving as the coxswain for the winning Varsity 4 boat was sophomore
Molly Rosado, and she was joined by sophomore
Madyson Orlando, junior
Madelyn Green, sophomore
Marissa Beck and junior
Rachel Gress.
In Varsity 8 action, the Colonials finished fourth with a time of 11:00.313. Senior
Kestra Harris was the coxswain and she was joined in the boat by Orlando, Green, Beck, juniors
Alison Ishman and
Taylor Boczar, Gress, junior
Mia Krolczyk and sophomore
Harley Beckey.

The Colonials also competed in Varsity Doubles, which featured senior
Kalyssa Pottgeiser and freshman
Emily Kerry. The pair recorded a time of 14:50.370 to finish second.
In novice action, both the four (16:32.380) and the eight (14:13.473) earned silver. Sophomore
Abigail Zeisloft was the coxswain of the four in a boat that also featured rookies Hannah Szczesny,
Christina Brunette,
Kiley King and
Julia Olshansky.
The Novice Eight also had Zeisloft as the coxswain and featured freshman
Maria Ringo, Brunette, King, freshman
Jennifer Weinberg, Szczesny, freshmen
Payton Janovich and
Hannah Wandoff and Olshansky.
Robert Morris closes out its fall season Friday, Nov. 8, by taking on Duquesne. The novices will also compete against the Dukes Saturday, Nov. 9.
