PITTSBURGH -- The Robert Morris University men's hockey team is happy to announce it will take part in the Colonials Fight Hunger initiative on Friday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Nov. 23, when it hosts rival Air Force in a two-game series at the RMU Island Sports Center.

Anyone who donates at least five (5) non-perishable food items at the Island Sports Center front door will receive $1 admission to either of RMU's home games against Air Force. Game times on both nights are set for 7:05 p.m.

Donations will be given to Colonial Cupboard, RMU's new food pantry that's designed to meet the immediate food needs for all currently registered students, undergraduate or graduate. Colonial Cupboard is a member of the College and University Food Bank Alliance and accepts personal care items in addition to various foodstuffs.

In addition, all proceeds from the 'Chuck-A-Puck' contest at the second intermission will go directly to Colonial Cupboard. The RMU football team will also take part in the Colonials Fight Hunger weekend for its noon game on Saturday, Nov. 23 at Joe Walton Stadium, offering $1 tickets as well.

Now in its 16th season of NCAA Division I men's hockey, RMU is off to a 5-1 start in Atlantic Hockey play, sitting in first place in the 11-team league. Starting with the Air Force weekend, the Colonials will play five home games at the Island Sports Center before the holiday season, capped by the program's first Hockey Fights Cancer weekend Dec. 14-15.
