PITTSBURGH -- Support the
Robert Morris University men's hockey team and have a great time in the process at the program's annual golf outing, set for Friday, Aug. 23 and proudly sponsored by Fruehauf Manufacturing.
Returning to
Seven Oaks Country Club in Beaver for the second consecutive year, the outing will feature skill prizes, delicious food and -- in what's become a signature of the golf outing -- a plentiful sports memorabilia auction. Each golfer will also receive RMU men's hockey apparel and two tickets to a home game at the RMU Island Sports Center during the 2019-20 season.
"Over the past 13 years, the support this outing has provided to our student athletes has been extraordinary -- second to none," said head coach
Derek Schooley, who will enter his 16th season in charge of Pittsburgh's only Division I men's hockey program. "We look forward to your continued support to our hockey program and on this enjoyable day filled with great golf, food and friends."
Just as the venue remains the same, so does the price: $210 per player, with alumni receiving a reduced $185 rate. Those interested can find more information on the
outing brochure, including how to purchase sponsorships and put your business name in front of our loyal supporters! Prospective sponsors can contact Schooley (412-397-4477),
Matt Millet (412-397-6406) or outing chairman Jim Vitale (412-906-3998).
Remember: The outing is limited to 144 golfers, with spots reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Paid registration guarantees your spot.
The RMU men's hockey team completed its 15th NCAA season in March, reaching the Atlantic Hockey semifinal round for a league-record-tying sixth consecutive year. Under Schooley, the Colonials have collected three conference championships, an NCAA bid and four other tournament trophies. RMU consistently ranks among the top academic teams in the nation, routinely placing 20-plus players on the AHA's annual All-Academic Team.
