Moon Township, Pa. – For the second consecutive week a Robert Morris University men's basketball student-athlete was named Northeast Conference (NEC) Player of the Week, as junior forward AJ Bramah was bestowed the plaudit Wednesday.

In a split last weekend at Peoples Court at the UPMC Events Center that concluded a four-game homestand, Bramah averaged 17.0 points and 12.0 rebounds while shooting 87.5 percent (14-for-16) from the field and 85.7 percent (6-for-7) at the free-throw line.

Bramah, a native of San Leandro, Calif., opened the week with 16 points and four rebounds against Merrimack (1/18/20) before exploding with a virtuoso performance in a 67-55 win over Sacred Heart (1/20/20) in front of a national television audience on CBS Sports Network.

In the win over the Pioneers, Bramah established career highs in both points (18) and rebounds (20) in helping the Colonials conclude their homestand with a 3-1 (.750) record. He shot a perfect 9-for-9 from the field, the fourth student-athlete in 10 years under RMU Pat Gallagher Head Coach Andrew Toole to have a perfect shooting night from the field at home.

The 20 caroms for Bramah also tied a Robert Morris single-game record that was established 40 years ago. Former forward Mike Morton (1978-80) originally set the record with 20 rebounds @ Baltimore Jan. 12, 1980. A total of 1,213 games were played between the two performances.

Bramah has now reached double figures in scoring in 14 consecutive games as RMU opens its annual swing through Brooklyn, N.Y., Thursday with a 7:00 p.m. tip against St. Francis Brooklyn at the Genevoso Pope Athletic Complex. During that span he is averaging 13.8 points and 8.9 rebounds per contest.

Overall on the 2019-20 campaign, Bramah has appeared in 18 games and is averaging 12.1 points and 8.3 rebounds. He ranks second in the NEC in field goal percentage (.575), tied for third in double-doubles (5) and fifth in rebounding. Bramah follows redshirt senior guard Josh Williams in earning NEC Player of the Week.

Led by Toole, the Colonials have won seven of their last nine games and sit in second place in the NEC standings at 5-1, a half game behind Merrimack.
