Moon Township, Pa. – The Robert Morris University women's basketball program announces that its opening Horizon League series at Cleveland State, scheduled for the weekend of Dec. 12-13, has been canceled due to a recent positive COVID-19 test within the Vikings' program.
RMU is working with the Horizon League to potentially replace the Dec. 12-13 series with another against a conference opponent. A decision regarding adding non-conference games will be made in the near future.

The RMU Department of Athletics announced Monday that it extended its pause on fan attendance at competitive events through Dec. 31, 2020. A determination regarding home games in January will be made at a later date. Beginning its inaugural season in the Horizon League, RMU was tabbed to finish fifth in the coaches' preseason rankings and is in the midst of its greatest run in program history. The Colonials, who return five players who started 15 or more games in 2019-20 and 10 letterwinners overall, have gone 92-37 (.713) under Buscaglia's tenure, capturing four NEC regular-season championships, two NEC Tournament crowns, a pair of NCAA Tournament berths, and a Postseason Women's National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) bid since 2016-17.
