RMU Sits Eighth After Two Rounds of Bucknell Invite

Colonials post score of 295 during second round Monday at Bucknell Golf Club

Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU golf team continued play in the Bucknell Invitational Monday, posting a score of 295 in the second round. The Colonials sit eighth heading into the final round Tuesday with a score of 577.
 
THE LEADERBOARD
Colgate moved into first place Tuesday, owning a two-day score of 560. The Raiders have shown consistency, carding a 280 in each of the first and second rounds. Youngstown State (562) sits two strokes behind Colgate, followed by Monmouth (563), Army West Point and Bucknell (565) and Mount St. Mary's (568). Niagara University sits in seventh place, four strokes ahead of RMU.
 
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Junior Josh Nagy led the Colonials Monday, finishing one-under par on the front nine. He recorded a bogey on the fifth, a 365-yard par four, but bounced back to earn pars in two out of the last three holes, including ninth hole, a 503-yard par five. Nagy added two more birdies on the back nine in finishing with a 70 on the round and is one of seven student-athletes to be in a tie for 13th individually heading into the final round. Joining Nagy in a tie for 13th is sophomore Xavier Schwarz, who carded a 73 Monday.
 
THE LINEUP
Junior Alex Seelig finished with a 74 Monday, earning a birdie on the second hole of the morning, the 209-yard par three. He finished with a 37 on the front nine and a 37 on the back. Sophomore Skyler Fox posted a pair of birdies on the front nine and finished at 78 Monday, while senior Chase Miller finished with a 79.  
 
HANS SOLO
Playing as an individual at the Bucknell Invitational is junior Logan Hess, who enters Tuesday's final round within six strokes of the lead. He recorded a 69 Sunday in the first round and followed that with a 71 (+1) Monday and is one of six student-athletes that sit even on the tournament at 140. Monmouth's Ron Robinson continues to lead the pack individually, as he finished at 70 Monday and through two rounds of the tournament is at 134 (-6).

The Colonials conclude the Bucknell Invitational Tuesday, Oct. 12, with tee time slated for 9:00 a.m.
