PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Robert Morris University senior Dyllan Lubbesmeyer became the latest Colonial to join the professional ranks Tuesday when it was announced that he had signed a professional contract with the Wheeling Nailers of the East Coast Hockey League for the remainder of the 2021 season.
The Burnsville, Minn. native appeared in 22 games for the Colonials over his four-year career, compiling a lifetime 5-4-1 record to go along with a 2.57 GAA and a .915 SV%, including a 5-2 mark during his senior campaign.
Earlier this season, Lubbesmeyer was also named as a nominee for the 2021 Hockey Humanitarian Award in recognition of his commitment to both excellence in the classroom as well his dedication to volunteer work on campus and in the surrounding community.
He is the latest Colonial to follow the RMU-to-Wheeling pipeline, becoming the ninth program alum to join the Nailers and the first since former teammate Luke Lynch signed with the club last July.
