Chase Miller carded a second 74 (+2) to sit in a tie for eighth place individually

West Lafayette, Ind. – The Robert Morris University men's golf team nearly duplicated its first round score, ultimately tacking two strokes onto it to card a 305 (+17) in the second round of the Horizon League Championships this afternoon. The 36-hole total of 608 (+32) ranks the Colonials fifth out of 10 teams, with Oakland (582, +6), Wright State (587, +11), Cleveland State (601, +25), and Purdue Fort Wayne (602, +26) sitting ahead of them.

UP FOR THE CHASE
Junior Chase Miller once again led RMU this afternoon, posting a second 74 (+2) after originally carding that score in the first round. Miller did the majority of his work on the front nine, birdieing the par-four first and eighth holes while adding six pars over that stretch and 12 pars in total. The Bernville, Pa. native ranks second in par-three scoring at a 3.00 average, a stroke behind the lead established by Wright State's Bryce Haney at 2.88 (-1).

FLIP FLOP
Redshirt sophomore Chris Sabol matched Miller's round with a 74 (+2), moving him into a tie for 16th overall with teammate Kyle Grube. Sabol registered both of his birdies on the back nine, doing so on the par-four 11th and 18th holes. The Moon, Pa. native added 12 pars to trim three strokes from his opening round. Grube followed his first-round 74 (+2) with a 77 (+5) this afternoon, collecting three birdies and nine pars.

ALEX AND THE FOX
Freshman Skyler Fox and sophomore Alex Seelig both posted an 80 (+8) to conclude their second 18 holes at their debut conference championship. Fox carded one birdie and nine pars this afternoon, while Seelig recorded three birdies and seven pars.

THE ROUNDUP
RMU sits four strokes ahead of sixth-place IUPUI (612, +36), with Youngstown State (616, +40), Green Bay (618, +42), Northern Kentucky (621, +45), and Detroit Mercy (629, +53) rounding out the 10-team field. On the individual leaderboard, Thomas Giroux of Oakland fired a second 70 (-2) to remain on top by two strokes at 140 (-4). Cleveland State's Zak Supelak moved up five spots with a round-low 69 (-3). Miller shares eighth place with Colin Sikkenga of Oakland, and is three strokes behind Wright State's Austin Schoonmaker and Oakland's Chris Handy in the sixth place.
