Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU golf team continued its 2022 spring season Saturday with its first round of the Battle at Rum Pointe in Berlin, Md., at Rum Pointe Golf Course. The Colonials posted a team score of 306 (+18) Saturday and sit 13th among a field of 22 programs.
THE LEADERBOARD
Rhode Island, which earned the team championship last weekend at the Carpetbagger Classic that RMU competed in, sits in first place after round one of the Battle at Rum Pointe by posting a team score of 285 (-3). The Rams sit nine strokes ahead of Rider, which finished at 294 (+6). Rounding out the top five is Bucknell (296) and Fairfield and Colgate, which are tied for fourth at 297 (+9).
WOLVERINE
Taking home top honors individually for the Colonials Saturday was junior
Logan Hess, who carded a 75 (+3) and sits in a tie for 27th with 16 other student-athletes. Three RMU student-athletes posted a 77 (+5) Saturday, including juniors
Parker Johnson and
Alex Seelig and sophomore
Xavier Schwarz. Rounding out the lineup for the Colonials was junior
Josh Nagy, who finished at 81 (+9). Playing as an individual for RMU is redshirt junior
Chris Sabol, who also carded an 81.
