Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU golf team concluded play in the Battle at Rum Pointe in Berlin, Md., Sunday, finishing with a two-day score of 609 (+33) to tie for 13th with Iona at Rum Point Golf Course.
TEAM CHAMPION
Rhode Island claimed a team championship for the second consecutive week, carding a 290 Sunday to finish at 575 (-1) overall and easily outdistance Harvard, which finished 14 strokes behind at 589 (+13). Rounding out the top five and tying for third was Rider, Fairfield and Bucknell. The three programs finished at 593 (+17).

Pacing the Colonials Sunday as well as overall during the Battle at Rum Pointe was junior
Alex Seelig, who carded a 73 (+1) in the second round to finish the tournament at 150 (+6). He tied for 27th individually with 10 other student-athletes.

Logan Hess posted a 78 Sunday and finished the tournament at 153 (+9), while junior
Josh Nagy shaved eight strokes off his score from the first round, posting a 73 Sunday to finish at 154 (+10). Sophomore
Xavier Schwarz notched a 156 (+12), while junior
Parker Johnson finished one stroke behind Schwarz at 157 (+13). Playing as an individual, redshirt junior
Chris Sabol carded a 77 Sunday and finished at 158 (+14) overall.
UP NEXT
RMU has a week off before returning to action with the Abarta Collegiate Invitational. The invite is set for Sunday, April 10, and Monday, April 11, and is hosted by Lafayette in Hellertown, Pa., at The Steel Club.
