Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU golf team opened play in the Abarta Collegiate Invitational Sunday, hosted by Lafayette, in Hellertown, Pa., at the Steel Club. The Colonials shot an even 300 (+12) and are tied for sixth with Siena.
THE LEADERBOARD
Iona posted a first round score of 292 (+4) Saturday, sitting one stroke ahead of Rhode Island at 293. Rounding out the top five is Bucknell (296), the host Leopards (297) and Towson (299). The Colonials and Saints sit one stroke ahead Lehigh, Fairfield and Mount St. Mary's, as each program carded a 301 (+13) Sunday.
X MARKS THE SPOT
Leading the Colonials in the first round of the Abarta Collegiate Invitational was sophomore
Xavier Schwarz, who carded a 73 (+1). He is one of eight student-athletes to sit in a tie for 10th place after Sunday's action. Senior
Chase Miller finished with a 74 (+2) and is one of nine student-athletes that are tied for 18th. Justin Burkhamer of Iona and Jackson Bussell of Bucknell each finished three under par Sunday with a 69 in the 6,655-yard course to head into Monday's second round atop the player leaderboard.

Josh Nagy posted a 76 (+4) Sunday in the first round of the Abarta Collegiate Invitational, one stroke ahead of junior teammate
Alex Seelig, who carded a 77. Rounding out the lineup for RMU is junior
Parker Johnson, who finished at 80 (+8) Sunday. Playing as an individual is junior
Logan Hess, who fired an 84 (+12).
