Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU golf team concluded action in the Abarta Collegiate Invitational Monday, tying for sixth with Siena and Towson in Hellertown, Pa., at the Steel Club. The Colonials, Saints and Tigers each finished the two days of the tournament with a 590 (+14).
TEAM CHAMPION
Iona and host Lafayette tied for first place, with the Leopards making a charge Monday by firing a 283, which was five strokes under par. Both teams finished with a 580 (+4). In sudden death, Iona claimed the team title on the first hole. Rounding out the top five was Bucknell (581), Mount St. Mary's (588) and Rhode Island (589). Finishing ninth behind RMU, Siena and Towson was Monmouth (593), while Villanova (594) placed 10th. The field featured 20 teams.
THREE'S COMPANY
Junior
Josh Nagy finished a stroke under par in the final round Monday with a score of 71 and finished the tournament at 147 (+3). He was one of 15 student-athletes to tie for 16th, a group that also included senior
Chase Miller and sophomore
Xavier Schwarz. Miller fired a 73 Monday, while Schwarz posted a 74. The duo had opposite scores in the first round.
THE LINEUP
Junior
Alex Seelig shaved five strokes off his opening round score and finished at even par Monday with a 72 to finish the two days of the tournament at 149 (+5). He was one of eight student-athletes to tie for 31st. Seelig tied for team-high honors for the Colonials during the tournament in pars (26) with Nagy. Schwarz, meanwhile, finished with seven birdies, a key reason he posted an average score of 4.50 when playing a par five. Also for RMU, junior
Logan Hess posted a 75 Monday to finish at 156 (+12), while junior
Parker Johnson carded an 80 for the second consecutive day to finish at 160 (+16).

RMU heads to Springboro, Ohio, for the Wright State Invitational, which is slated for Sunday, April 17, and Monday, April 18, at Heatherwoode Golf Club.
