Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU golf team continued play in the 2022 Horizon League Championships Monday in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla., at Mission Inn Resort. The Colonials finished with a score of 315 and after two rounds own a score of 631 to sit in ninth place.
TEAM LEADERBOARD
Wright State remains atop the leaderboard after carding a 285 Monday, owning a two-day score of 567 (-9). Youngstown State posted the top score Monday at 284 (-4) and sit at 574 (-2) for the #HLGOLF Championships, while Oakland (579) is in third place. Rounding out the top five is Northern Kentucky (598) and Cleveland State (602).

Pacing the Colonials individually for the second round Monday was junior
Alex Seelig, who followed his 73 in the first round with a 76. He owns a two-day score of 149 (+5) and is one of three student-athletes to sit in a tie for 16th. Seelig joins Kevin Scherr of Youngstown State and James Hill of Detroit Mercy. Seelig opened the round with a bang Monday, posting an eagle on No. 1, a 474-yard par five. He also birdied the second hole. He concluded his round at No. 18 with his third birdie of the round.
THE LINEUP
Sophomore
Xavier Schwarz carded an 80 Monday for the Colonials and owns a two-day score of 157 (+13), two strokes ahead of senior
Chase Miller, who finished at 79 Monday and is at 159 (+15) overall. Junior
Josh Nagy is at 167 (+23) after handing in an 81 in the second round, while junior
Parker Johnson moved into the lineup and in his first action of the 2022 Horizon League Championships finished with an 80.
UP NEXT
RMU will tee off at 8:20 a.m. Tuesday, April 26, for the third and final round of the 2022 Horizon League Championships at Mission Inn Resort. Johnson will once again get the Colonials started at No. 10, while Seelig will be one of the last student-athletes on the course, taking flight at 9:00 a.m., also on No. 10.
