Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU rowing team wrapped up its 2021-22 regular season Sunday, hosting Duquesne and Canisius from Pleasant Valley Beach at Moraine State Park in Butler County as part of Senior Day Festivities.
VARSITY 8
The Colonials finished with a time of 6:56.9, just missing out on beating Canisius, which clocked in at 6:55.8. The RMU Second Varsity 8+ boat recorded a time of 7:59.8, and the two coxswains for the Colonials were seniors
Jayme Sanner and
Harley Beckey, respectively.
VARSITY 4
In Varsity 4+ action, the Colonials crossed the finish line with a time of 9:52.4, while the Second Varsity 4+ recorded a time of 10:29.6. Freshman
Ajah Edwards served as the coxswain for the Varsity 4+, while senior
Isabelle Neville was the coxswain for the Second Varsity 4+.
QUOTABLE
"Every boat had a season best performance, which is a bonus as we get ready for the MAAC Championships," head coach
Carol Schoenecker. "It was great to close the gap on one of our conference competitors in Canisius. We're looking forward to a great week of preparation before we head to New Jersey."

2022 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championships are set for Sunday, May 15, in Pennsauken Township, N.J., at Cooper River Park. Heats take place in the morning, followed by the finals in the afternoon. The championships can be seen live on ESPN3.
