Winston-Salem, N.C. – The Robert Morris University men's soccer team fell to the Demon Deacons, 1-5 Tuesday night. The Colonials are now 4-4-5 overall and remain 2-2-2 in the Horizon League. Wake Forest moves up to 11-1-3 on the year and remains 4-1-1 in the ACC conference.
MOMENTS THAT MATTERED
Early on down in North Carolina, the Demon Deacs started off strong offensively, posting several shots.
Freshman goalkeeper
Kieran Gorgenyi made key saves in the beginning of the game to hold off Wake Forest. The Demon Deacs paced for six shots on the opening 20 minutes with three on frame, all being saved by Gorgenyi.
In the 21
st minute, the home side got on the board for the first goal of the game. 13 minutes later, Wake Forest added to their lead with a goal by Leo Guarino and finished the first half up, 2-0.
Entering the second half, the remaining goals in the game were scored through the opening 20 minutes of the second frame.
Wake Forest added two more in a row and then
Kai McLoughlin ripped in his third goal of the season, unassisted.
Moments later after his goal, the Demon Deacs added in their fifth and final goal of the game and the score ended in a 1-5 loss for the Colonials.

The Colonials posted six shot attempts on the night with two on goal. The goal scorer
Kai McLoughlin recorded the most shots with three. In net,
Kieran Gorgenyi made four saves. From England,
Josh Lane played the last 24 minutes in goal and made one save. Freshman
Wil Hornbaker earned playing time for the second time this season. Junior
Lucas Hammerle entered the match against Wake Forest. From Connellsville, Pa., the midfielder played his first minutes in collegiate soccer.
UP NEXT
RMU's next game will be against Oakland as the Colonials will host the Golden Grizzlies at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 21. After that, the Colonials will have two more Horizon League conference games.
