Opening Face-Off
- RMU men's lacrosse begins their home schedule of the 2023 season, hosting St. Bonaventure Tuesday night.
- In RMU's first non-conference game of the season, the Colonials beat Bucknell, 12-9.
- Canadian forward Nick Pelletier opened up the season producing at a high level, scoring four goals on four shots and added three ground balls.
- Fifth-year Will Johansen added a three-point game scoring two goals and an assist.
- In goal, sophomore Nate Randall played all 60 minutes. He made a career high 16 saves to earn RMU's first win of the season.
- At the face-off circle, Steven DelleMonache won a career-high 15 face-off's and scooped up a team-high 10 ground balls.
- Led by Craig McDonald who enters his second year as head coach of the Colonials, RMU returns many key players from a squad that won the 2022 ASUN Championship and a first-round tournament appearance in the NCAA playoff bracket.
- McDonald owns an 11-6 overall and 4-1 conference record on his resume at RMU.
- Fifth-year defenseman Owen Down was selected to the ASUN 2023 Preseason All-Conference Team.
- According to a poll done by ASUN head coaches, the RMU men's lacrosse team was tabbed to finish third in the conference in 2023.

The All-Time Series (St. Bonaventure) – On Tuesday, this will be the first time that both programs face each other. St. Bonaventure started their men's lax program back in 2019, playing in the MAAC. In 2023, this is the first year that the Atlantic10 conference is featuring men's lacrosse after having women's lacrosse since 2006. Six teams have joined the A10 including: Hobart, Saint Joseph's, High Point, Richmond, UMass and St. Bonaventure. All six of these programs have recently played in other conferences including the NEC, MAAC and Southern Conference. All-Time against these opponents, RMU has picked up 12 wins with five against Hobart, four with Saint Joseph's and three wins vs. High Point.

Scouting the Bonnies – SBU is currently in last place of the A10 conference, after having two close losses to Bellarmine (2/11), 14-10, and a 12-11 loss in OT vs. Binghamton (2/18). So far, Jake Rosa is the leading scorer for the Bonnies, producing five goals and three assists. Sean Westley has three goals and three assists and Mark Belles has four points in their two games. Quinn Nolan is the team's face-off specialist. Through two games he's won 24 face-off's and scooped up 13 ground balls. In net, St. Bonaventure has played two goalies. Cristofero Cucciuffo has made 14 saves with a .412 save percentage. Conan Lynch has made eight saves and owns a .571 save percentage.

Craig McDonald and his staff bring on to a roster, totaling 46 players.

Matt Duncan from St. John's University was drafted in the 2022 National Lacrosse League Draft in the 4
th round, 67
th overall. He played four years at St. John's and was named a Freshman All-American Honorable Mention in 2019 by CollegeCrosse. He made the BIG EAST All-Academic Team four times. The midfielder in 43 career games owns six goals and 12 assists.

38 miles east, the Colonials picked up fifth-year
Christian Krauch from Seton Hill University. The defenseman was an All-American Honorable Mention from USA Lacrosse in 2022. He made the USILA All-North Region Third-Team in 2022 and Honorable Mention selection in 2021 as a junior. Krauch was named to the First-Team All G-MAC list in 2021 and named Second-Team in 2022. From Manchester, Md., Krauch was the G-MAC Freshman of the Year and Second-Team All G-MAC selection in 2019. He's done well in the classroom, being a 4x G-MAC Academic All-Conference student.

The Colonials picked up another goal in the transfer portal, as they recruited
Kyle Reihner from Mount Union. The Junior attended Scranton Prep high school and is a native of Scranton, Pa. Reihner this past season was an All-OAC Honorable Mention. In his two years at Mount Union, Reihner played in 35 games, starting in 34. He owns 10.92 goals against average and has stopped 482 shots. His 247 saves in the 2022 season are a career record at Mount Union, as well as his (.622) save percentage.

David Burr to the roster. Burr transferred from Rutgers University where assistant coach
Kris Alleyne played his collegiate career.

HOME OPENER
Since 2006, the Colonials own an 11-6 record in their first home games of the season at Joe Walton Stadium. Their last home opener win came in 2021, when they beat Bellarmine, 17-8 on March 2
nd. Tuesday's game vs. SBU will be their first time opening against them and first match-up in school history with the Bonnies.

ASUN
2023 is the second season for the Colonials in the ASUN Conference. RMU from 2006-2020 competed in the NEC where they saw success in the form of three conference championships in 2012, 2018 and 2019. In back-to-back years in the 2018-19 season, the Colonials achieved NCAA Tournament appearances. After playing unattached in 2021, RMU men's lacrosse joined the ASUN and won the conference's first ever championship this past season.
