Colonials Scrimmage WVU To Open Spring Season

RMU gets tuneup before hosting RMU Duals April 1 from McPhail Boathouse

Moon Township, Pa. – The RMU rowing team christened its 2023 spring season Saturday, traveling to Morgantown, W.Va., to face off against West Virginia University in a scrimmage. The Colonials and Mountaineers each competed in six 750-meter pieces.

QUOTABLE
"We had a productive morning of scrimmaging with WVU today," said RMU head coach Robert Weber. "Our crews had a chance to practice specific elements of our race plan, and I think we learned a lot about proper execution of that plan. A lot of what we're trying to teach is new to our student-athletes, and while they're catching on quickly, it's a process of development. Our goal is to take steps forward every chance we get. I think we did that today in having a few very competitive pieces against crews from a Power Five program. We appreciate WVU hosting us today, and I'm really excited to see where we go from here."
