Moon Township, Pa. – A total of 10 student-athletes from the Robert Morris women's lacrosse team were named to the Mid-American Conference (MAC) Lacrosse All-Academic Team on Wednesday afternoon.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport and hold a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 on a 4.00 scale. A total of 78 student-athletes were honored by the MAC in 2023, including a league-high 15 from Youngstown State.
For the Colonials, four juniors, three seniors, two sophomores and a fifth-year student-athlete make up the 2023 MAC Lacrosse All-Academic Team. Highlighting the group for RMU is sophomore
Jenna Irwin, who owns a perfect 4.00 cumulative GPA as an early childhood education major.
Junior
Haley Mojsej is an accounting major who posted a cumulative GPA of 3.92, while senior
Julia Koterwas has maintained a 3.89 cumulative GPA while studying Finance. Sophomore
Chelsea Coleman is a political science major with a 3.85 GPA as fifth-year
Jamie Keller has registered a 3.83 GPA as an engineering major. Junior
Gia Anthony is a marketing major with a 3.81 cumulative GPA while senior
Colleen Tifft has recorded a 3.64 GPA as an engineering major. Classmate
Jordan Anderson has posted a GPA of 3.61 while studying biology as juniors
Kathleen Kelly and
Mackenzie Bell are engineering majors. Kelly has registered a 3.45 cumulative GPA while Bell has posted a 3.27.
While sustaining success in the classroom, this group of upperclassmen have been dominant on the playing field as well. Since joining the MAC in 2021, the Colonials have accumulated a 25-3 conference record while securing three MAC regular season titles, being co-champions in 2022 and 2023. RMU also earned its first ever berth to the NCAA tournament during the 2021 campaign while producing 20 MAC All-Conference recipients.
