Moon Township, Pa. – The United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) announced this past week the 2023 Academic Team Awards, presented by Blatant Lacrosse.

The RMU men's lacrosse program was selected, as the team, earned a GPA of over 3.0.
This past season, under the leadership of head coach
Craig McDonald in his second year, the team earned this prestigious award.
Across the roster, 33 student-athletes made the ASUN Honor Roll in the 2023 season for earning a 3.0 GPA or higher in the 2022 Fall Semester and 2023 Spring Semester.
Overall, the team had a 3.35 GPA and 14 players received Dean's List honors at RMU. A total of six players had a perfect 4.0 GPA in the Fall Semester.
Leading the way for the Colonials in the classroom was Senior
James Christoforatos, as he was named to the 2022-23 Academic All-America® At-Large Third Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators (CSC). A native of Pickering, Ontario, is the first lacrosse student-athlete in athletic department history to be named a CSC Academic All-American. Christoforatos was also named to the ASUN All-Academic Team.
As a team, the Colonials succeeded on and off the field. During the 2023 campaign, RMU posted an 8-8 overall record and beat Jacksonville 9-8 in the ASUN Quarterfinal round. Fifth-year players
Taggart Clark and
Owen Down also received ASUN All-Conference Second Team awards.
