RMU Softball Signs Seven Players Joining in 2025

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – RMU softball head coach Jexx Varner announces the signing of seven incoming freshmen, joining the program in 2025. 
 
"This 2025 freshmen class is special, featuring High School state champions, elite travel organizations, and diamonds in the rough - this class has it all! The 2025 class covers the entire field defensively and all spots of the lineup. Each of these wonderful young ladies will make an immediate impact on our program, on and off the field. They are ready for and capable of Championships!" – Head Coach Jexx Varner
 

Baylee Beachler | Pitcher | B/T: R/R | Pendelton County High School | Franklin, W. Va.  
  • Played travel softball for Starz Gold 18u McGowan
  • Planning to major in Health Science/Pre-Med
  • First Team All-State and High School Tournament MVP in 2024
  • Named to the All Potomac Valley Conference First Team three straight years (2022-24)
  • In 2023, was an All-State Honorable Mention, tabbed to the High School All-Tournament Team and finished the season with 103 strikeouts 
  • First female athlete from her high school to play Division I in any sport

Isabella Candiotti | Catcher | B/T: R/R | Sharpsville High School | Sharpsville, Pa.
  • Named Second Team All-District 10 and a 2x First Team All-Region recipient
  • Had a .700 caught stealing rate her junior season
  • In travel ball, finished top 10 at the 2024 Alliance Fastpitch Championship Series
  • Finished in third place in the 2022 Top Gun Invitational's Maverick Division
  • 3x Academic Letter recipient and National Honor Society Member

Haley Robinson | Catcher | B/T: R/R | Amanda-Clearcreek High School | Amanda, Ohio
  • Named First Team All-MSL and Second Team All-District in 2023-24
  • Played travel ball for Finesse Hoverman 18U National
  • Earned an FFA Greenhand Degree, FFA Chapter Degree and was an MSL All-Academic
 
Why RMU? "I chose RMU because it felt like home as soon as I stepped on campus. I knew I could spend the next four years at RMU with or without softball. Everyone on campus showed how much they loved being a Colonial. I also knew I would have a strong support system while at RMU. Coach Jexx, Sam and Bonnie all made me feel welcomed and right at home. I can't wait to be a part of this amazing school and program!"
 
"Haley is a great field general behind the plate. Her energy, communication and grit make her a very good catcher. Haley also has a big bat to make an impact in the lineup either from behind the plate or in a designated player role. Erynn Thompson | Infielder | B/T: R/R | Woodgrove High School | Purcellville, Va.
  • As a sophomore, was named Second Team All-District
  • Junior year, she was tabbed a First Team All-District, First Team All-Region, First Team All-State, Second Team All-MET and ranked fourth in the state of Virginia in RBI's
  • Back-to-back State Champion in 2023 and 2024
  • In high school, owned a .458 batting average, 1.304 OPS, .783 slugging percentage, 11 home runs and 47 RBI in 26 games
  • Playing travel ball for the Tri State Thunder, she had a .444 batting average, 1.255 OPS, .845 slugging percentage, eight home runs and 30 RBI
  • Honor Roll all four years of high school, National Honor Society member, American Sign Language member and earned an award for Early Childhood Education Excellence

She has been a vital piece to a dominant high school program and elite travel teams. She can play multiple spots in the infield to give us options defensively. Morgan Alisesky | Middle Infielder / Outfielder | B/T: R/R | Thomas Jefferson High School | Jefferson Hills, Pa.
  • First Team All-Section her sophomore and junior year and First Team All-State
  • Had a .476 batting average, .913 fielding percentage, 1.194 OPS, .667 slugging percentage, 40 hits, 31 singles, 4 doubles, three triples, two home runs and 18 stolen bases
  • Playing travel ball for Pennsylvania Chalovich in the summer of 2024, she had a .426 batting average, 1.107 OPS, .634 slugging percentage, 23 RBI, 43 hits, 26 singles, 14 doubles, three triples, one home run and 27 stolen bases
  • Scored the winning run in the State Championship game
  • Honor Roll all four years in High School

"Morgan is another state champion whose electric athleticism makes her an impactful player on defense and offense. Her speed and quickness will give our offense a lot of options while also creating a lot of headaches for opponents. Morgan gives us options on where to put her on defense, knowing she plays the kind of defense we expect in this program. Alivia Hare | Outfielder / Utility | B/T: L/R | Mohawk Jr. Sr. High School | Wampum, Pa.
  • First Team All-Section freshman through junior year
  • Section Champs her sophomore and junior year; WPIAL Champion her junior year
  • Playing travel ball for the Ohio Outlaws, she posted a .441 career average, .484 on-base percentage and 90% successful stolen base rate
  • Academically, was the National Honors Society Vice President, Distinguished Young Woman Finalist, received High Honors all four years, peer leader sophomore year to now, gifted/enrichment student, AGLOA National qualifier her freshman and sophomore year and was the Club Hope 4 Mohawk creator and leader.
 
Why RMU? "I went to my first RMU camp when I was 13 and felt like something I really wanted to be a part of. Something that has stuck with me since then was when Coach Jexx said, "be where your feet are." Sports are such a blessing to play, especially at a high level. It's the best mix of being serious and allowing softball to still be a game and have fun. RMU is relatively close to home for me, so my family can watch me play. The campus is beautiful and I've yet to meet someone who didn't have a smile on their face on campus." – Alivia Hare

Her speed, quickness and instinct make her dangerous on the base paths while also making her an extremely talented outfielder. Her personal drive and love for Bobby Mo is as true as it comes. Delaney O'Connor | Outfielder / Utility | B/T: R/R | Chartiers Valley High School | Pittsburgh, Pa.
  • As a junior, was named First Team All-State and First Team All-Section
  • Academically, a member of the National Honor Society, Highest Honor Roll, member of the Math National Honor Society and a Scholar Athletes Award recipient
 
Why RMU? "I chose RMU because the softball program is excellent. RMU also has a great Actuarial Science program and the campus is close to home." – Delaney O'Connor
