John Paul Mbuthia has been named to the eligible player list for the 2025 MLS SuperDraft, as announced by Major League Soccer.
The MLS unveiled a list of 479 eligible players from 150 colleges and universities. The draft is set for Friday, December 20, with the first round beginning at 2:00 PM ET.
Mbuthia, a senior from Mooresville, N.C., made a significant impact for the Colonials during the 2024 season. He recorded five goals and one assist, earning Second Team All-League honors in the Horizon League. He was also recently selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region Third Team. His contributions included a Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week accolade in 2024.
In total, Mbuthia appeared in 39 career games, tallying nine goals, two assists, and 20 points, including one game-winning goal.
The RMU men's soccer team capped the 2024 season with a 9-7-3 overall record and a 4-3-2 mark in conference play. The Colonials secured their first Horizon League title and made their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2005.
