SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The RMU women's hockey team fell 4-1, Saturday afternoon at Syracuse. The Colonials record is now 5-12-1 overall with an 0-7-1 mark in conference play.
FIRST PERIOD
- Syracuse outshot RMU 12-9 through the first 20 minutes.
- In the final five minutes of the period, the Orange put in two goals, including a tally on the power play to take a 2-0 lead.
SECOND PERIOD
- In the middle frame, the Colonials scored on a power play chance. Mya Neugent scored off a rebound with assists from Morgan Giannone and Veronica Bac.
- Four minutes later, RMU was on the power play again, but Syracuse found the back of the net, scoring on a breakaway to take a 3-1 lead.
THIRD PERIOD
- Goaltender Lucy Phillips entered tended the twine for the final period.
- Syracuse added in one more, scoring an empty net goal with two minutes remaining.
