RMU Women’s Track and Field Participates at Stan Romanoski Open

MORGANTOWN, WVa. – The RMU track and field team opened its 2024 outdoor season at the Stan Romanoski Open hosted by West Virginia.
 
OPENING DAY
Madelyn Resciniti finished fifth in the hammer throw (46.04) in the event's first day.
 
TOP OF THE CHARTS
Hannah McDanel and Maddie Raymond finished in first and second place in the 100m with times of 12.32 and 12.38, respectively. McDanel was the top finisher in the 200m with a time of 25.51.
 
IN THE FIELD
Rayna Todero was fifth out 34 in the long jump (5.04).
 
ON TRACK
Julia Dill has a PR in the 5000m (17:47.05), finishing second out of 35. In her first outdoor race, Ava Deming was fifth in the 800, with a 2:19.86. Lindsey Martineau placed third of 14 in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:09.32. Emma Jiacristoforo also was third in the 1500m with a 4:49.88.

UP NEXT
The Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Championships scheduled for April 6 at the P3R Track & Field Complex has been canceled. The Colonials will now participate in the Dave Labor Invitational on April 5-6 hosted by Slippery Rock.
