ROCHESTER, N.Y. – RIT's six goals scored in the third period pushed the Tigers to victory in the first game of the series. Winning 7-0, RIT is now 23-10-2 overall and RMU is 11-24-3.
1st PERIOD
- Through the first 20 minutes, both teams battled evenly, sharing seven shots on goal each. Neither team scored in the first period.
- RMU held the edge on faceoffs, winning 11 of 21 draws.
2nd PERIOD
- In the second period, the Colonials posted seven shots again, but RIT threw 15 on net across the middle frame.
- No penalties were called until the Tigers received their first of the game with about nine minutes left in the second period.
- Matthew Wilde scored a power play goal to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead, heading into intermission.
3rd PERIOD
- Across the final frame, RIT scored six goals including two on the power play to secure a 7-0 victory.

Tanner Klimpke and
Cameron Garvey led the team in shots on goal with three each. Graduate centers
Dallas Tulik and
Logan Ganie both won a team-high nine faceoffs. Defensively,
Mitch Andres blocked a career-high seven shots. He now owns 77 blocks this season and 110 in his career. With 33 saves tonight, Veltri is now second all-time in AHA history in career saves with 3,590. Veltri's 464 postseason saves ranks first among active AHA netminders and places fifth all-time. He's also tied first all-time for games played with 129 in his career.
