MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's hockey team hits the road for the next three weeks, opening a six-game road stretch with an Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) series at Lindenwood in St. Charles, Mo. The Colonials begin the set on Friday, November 21 at 1:00 PM ET, followed by the series finale on Saturday, November 22 at 1:00 PM ET. Both contests will stream live on FloHockey.

RMU LATELY
RMU (5-11-0, 3-5-0 AHA) enters the weekend looking to rebound after a pair of tight, one-goal losses to RPI. Despite the results, several Colonials continued to contribute offensively, as Alaina Giampietro and Taylor Storey each found the back of the net, while Morgan Giannone, Jessica MacKinnon, Rowyn Ringor and Thalia D'Elia each recorded assists.

Through 16 games, MacKinnon remains the engine of the RMU attack. The sophomore leads the team in nearly every major category, including goals (6), assists (9), points (15), game-winning goals (2) and plus/minus (+6). Giampietro also shares the team lead in goals with six.

On the blue line, rookie defender Shayne Desjardins continues to establish herself as one of the conference's top shot-blockers. Her 51 blocks rank second in the AHA. D'Elia, meanwhile, paces all RMU defensemen with seven points (1g, 6a).

Between the pipes, sophomore goaltender Maggie Hatch has appeared in 10 games, collecting three wins and a shutout while posting a .907 save percentage.

MILESTONE REACHED
Senior forward Morgan Giannone reached a significant career benchmark last weekend, recording her 50th career point with an assist against RPI. Giannone now owns 24 goals and 26 assists, along with four game-winners and three power-play tallies. She led RMU in scoring last season with 20 points (9g, 11a).

NCAA LEADER
When it comes to the faceoff circle, no one in the nation has been better than Jessica MacKinnon. Her 221 faceoff wins lead all NCAA Division I players, and she enters the weekend carrying a 63.5% win rate.

ALL-TIME VS. LINDENWOOD
The Colonials have historically dominated the matchup, holding a 38-10-2 all-time advantage over the Lions. RMU once carried a 17-game winning streak in the series from 2017 through early 2024 and has shut out Lindenwood 12 times since 2011. Over the past 10 meetings, the Colonials are 6-3-1, averaging 3.64 goals per game in the all-time series.

Last season, RMU went 1-2-1 against the Lions in conference play, including a shootout victory in the tie. Several current Colonials have produced notable numbers in the matchup, including forwards Catriona Crarer (3g, 3a) and Giampietro (4g, 1a), along with defenders Kaitlyn Schooley (5a) and D'Elia (1g, 3a).

SCOUTING THE LIONS
Lindenwood (4-12-0, 3-5-0 AHA) returns home after earning series splits in three straight weekends against Delaware, Syracuse and RIT.

Offensively, freshmen forwards Tatiana Blochova and Michaela Paulinyova have been point producers. Both have reached 10 points through 16 games, with Blochova leading the Lions in goals (6) and Paulinyova pacing the team in assists (6). Graduate defender Josey Dunne-Weeks anchors the blue line with a team-best 30 blocks.

In goal, sophomore Madison Bowtell has started nine games, picking up three wins and a shutout while owning a .898 save percentage. As a group, the Lions average 1.9 goals per game and allow 3.4. Their power play sits at 13.0%, while the penalty kill operates at 82.5%.

UP NEXT
RMU continues its extended road swing with a two-game AHA series at RIT next weekend. The Colonials and Tigers meet on Friday, November 28 at 2:00 PM, with the series concluding on Saturday, November 29 at 2:00 PM.
