MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU men's soccer team hits the road for its regular season finale on Tuesday, November 4, traveling to Wright State for a 2:00 PM kickoff. Live stats will be available.
RMU LATELY
RMU (4-3-7, 2-1-5 #HLMSOC) enters its final conference match looking to bounce back from its first Horizon League loss of the season, a narrow 2-1 setback at Green Bay.
Anass Hadran delivered the lone goal—his third in conference play—off a setup from
Jack Bejarano. Junior goalkeeper
Josh Lane made six saves in the match.
Across 14 contests, freshman forward
Royie Rahamim leads RMU in scoring with four goals. Bejarano and Hadran share the team lead in assists (4) and total points (10), joining Rahamim as co-leaders. Defender
Jaxson Lee has also produced four assists from the backline, while junior center back
Kevin Gorbell remains the team's ironman, logging 1,235 minutes—the most of any Colonial this season.
In net, Lane has recorded four wins and four clean sheets, posting a .750 save percentage while anchoring a defensive unit that has conceded just 1.21 goals per match. Offensively, RMU averages 1.50 goals and 10.6 shots per game.
THREE IN DOUBLE DIGITS
RMU is one of only two Horizon League programs—along with Milwaukee—to feature three players in double-digit points entering the final matchday. Rahamim (4g, 2a), Hadran (3g, 4a), and Bejarano (3g, 4a) have each reached the 10-point threshold. This also marks the third consecutive season in which Hadran has produced double-digit points, cementing him as one of the league's most consistent attacking threats.
ALL-TIME VS. WRIGHT STATE
RMU and Wright State have met 11 times since the first meeting in 1991, with the all-time series level at 5-5-1. Last fall, the Colonials earned a 3-1 win at the North Athletic Complex behind a goal from Hadran. In 2022, the sides battled to a 1-1 draw, with
Kosi Udeh finding the back of the net for RMU.
SCOUTING THE RAIDERS
WSU (2-12-1, 2-6-0 #HLMSOC) returns home after back-to-back road losses at Green Bay and Oakland. Both Raider victories this season have come in conference play, including results against Milwaukee and Detroit Mercy.
Junior midfielder Henry Hutchinson leads WSU with four goals and nine points, while sophomore midfielder Ishmael Mensah has a team-best three assists. Senior defender Roman Kedgley has anchored the backline with 1,217 minutes logged, adding two assists of his own. Senior goalkeeper Alessandro Malterer has started 11 matches, earning two wins, one shutout, and a .672 save percentage. As a team, the Raiders are averaging 1.07 goals per outing and allowing 2.20, while attempting 10.0 shots per match.
WHAT'S AT STAKE – THE TABLE
RMU currently sits sixth in the Horizon League standings with 11 points. The Colonials can clinch a spot in the Horizon League Championship with:
- A win or tie, OR
- A Northern Kentucky tie or loss
A victory also keeps RMU in contention for the No. 2 seed, which would secure a first-round bye. To finish second, RMU needs:
- A win plus a Purdue Fort Wayne loss + Green Bay loss + Milwaukee loss + an Oakland tie or loss
Should RMU finish as the No. 3 or No. 4 seed, the Colonials would host a quarterfinal on Sunday, November 9 at 1:00 PM at the Montour Junction Sports Complex. A finish as the No. 5 or No. 6 seed would send RMU on the road for its quarterfinal match.
