MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Six members of the RMU women's soccer team were named to the 2025 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team, an honor that recognizes outstanding achievement both academically and athletically. Seniors
Paloma Swankler,
Jillian Marvin and
Emerson Johngarlo earned the distinction, while juniors
Ava Trethewey,
Shauna Gamble and
Julia Becerra were also selected.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.50 on a 4.00 scale, and compete in at least 90 percent of the institution's matches or start at least 66 percent of contests.
Swankler received the honor for the second consecutive season and was also named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team for the second straight year. A Psychology major, she finished the year with an impressive 3.98 GPA. On the field, Swankler started all 17 matches during the 2025 campaign, contributing three goals and three assists.
Marvin was also recognized as a CSC Academic All-District selection for the second year in a row. Majoring in Nursing, she owns a 3.73 GPA. Marvin started all 17 matches for the Colonials and tallied three assists on the season. Her two-assist performance against Southern Indiana earned her Horizon League Defensive Player of the Week honors.
Johngarlo earned Academic All-District recognition for the second time in her career. The defender from Apollo, Pa. started 13 matches and posted a 3.69 GPA while majoring in Management.
Trethewey collected the honor for the first time in her career following a breakout season. She earned Horizon League First Team accolades after leading the league in goals with nine, while also adding two assists across 17 matches. Trethewey majors in Biology and carries a 3.73 cumulative GPA.
Gamble received the recognition for the second time as well. The California native majors in Actuarial Science and maintains a 3.86 GPA. She was named to the Horizon League All-League Third Team and started all 17 matches for RMU, registering two assists. Gamble led the Colonials in minutes played, logging 1,529 minutes on the pitch.
Becerra rounded out the list of honorees, earning the award for the second consecutive season. A Health Science major with a 3.87 GPA, she appeared in 13 matches during the 2025 campaign, making 12 starts.
