MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Two school fell this weekend at the RMU Track & Field team completed in two events.
The distance team competed at the GVSU Big Meet hosted by Grand Valley State. Samantha Hennen set a new school record in the 3000m finishing with a time 9:40.52. Hennen's time bested the previous mark by 16 seconds set by Julia Dill earlier this year at the Penn State Nittany Lion Challenge. Dill set the new RMU mark in the 5000m, crossing in 16:37.65. The previous record of 17:17.32 has stood since 2011 set by Merel Van Steenbergen. Additionally, this is the best time by any runner in the Horizon League this season.
 
In addition to the school records, Ava Deming set a PR in the 800m with a time of  2:15.89. This ranks as the second-best mark in program history. Erin Laquatra's PR in the mile of 5:08.64 is the fifth-best time in program history and Alyssa Crocco's 18:48.39 in the 5000m is eighth in the record book.
 
The rest of the team competed at the Doug Raymond Invitational hosted by Kent State. Ailena Reynolds-Diaz finished with a PR of  2:20.82, which is eighth all-time. Mariya Chamberlain set a PR with a  11.61m/38-1.25 in the triple jump, which is the seventh best mark all-time.  
 
TOP FINISHES

• Hennen's finish is the fourth-best time in the Horizon League this season
• Gracie Parker finished the 60m in 7.69 which is tied for eighth- and her mark of 8.70 in the 60m hurdles is seventh-best in the Horizon League this season
• Chamberlain is eighth in the triple jump in the Horizon League this season

After a week off, RMU will compete in the 2025 Horizon League Indoor Championships in  Fort Wayne, Ind. on March 1 and 2.
