AKRON – Three Colonials competed in the women's shot put at the Northeast Ohio Open hosted by Akron on Friday afternoon.
Maizee Fry, a graduate student from New Florence, Pennsylvania, led the way for the Colonials with a throw of 12.58m to finish in fifth in the event behind four of Akron's throwers. Fry now has three top-10 finishes in the shot put this outdoor season, including two fifth-place finishes.
Sophomore
Aria Ibiezugbe had the second-highest finish for the Colonials on the day, finishing in eighth. Ibiezugbe, a native of Ashburn, Virginia, threw for a distance of 11.51m.
Rounding out the field for the Colonials was freshman
Natavia Wilson, who finished in 14
th in the event with a distance of 9.96m.
