SYRACUSE, N.Y. – On the eve of the 2025 Northeast Conference Championship, the league has announced its major awards and all-conference teams.
Bo Columbus was named NEC Player of the Year. The faceoff specialist the NEC and ranks seventh in the country with 7.79 ground balls per game. He tied the RMU program record by with 18 ground balls against VMI on April 12, which is tied for the most single-game total in the NCAA this season. His efforts that week led him to being named the NEC Player of the Week and earned him a spot on the USILA Team of the Week.
He is now the fifth NEC Player of the Year honoree for RMU, along with Trevor Moore (2010-11), Kiel Matisz (2012) and Tyson Gibson (2019).
David Burr is the NEC Offensive Player of the Year. Burr recorded 28 goals and leads the Colonials with 23 assists and 51 points. He is second in the NEC and 37th nationally with 1.67 assists per game and is 40th in the nation with 3.64 points per game.
Burr has a league-leading 4.71 points per game during conference play and is the second Colonial to earn NEC Offensive Player of the Year honors, joining Kiel Matisz (2012).
Joining Columbus and Burr on the First Team All-Conference squad are
Calum Brennan,
Owen Tapper,
Elijah Edwards and
Gavin Pedone. Representing the Second Team All-Conference are
Kean Moon,
Nick Pelletier and
Nate Fechter.
Luke Prezioso was selected on the All-Rookie Team.
RMU (9-5, 6-1 NEC) is the No. 2 seed and will take on No. 3 seed LIU Thursday at noon in the semifinals of the NEC Championship.
