MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Robert Morris (13-9, 5-6 HL) concludes its three-game homestand at the UPMC Events Center Wednesday evening when it hosts IU Indy (6-16, 2-9 HL). The matchup, which will air on SportsNet Pittsburgh and stream live on ESPN+, is scheduled for a 7 p.m. tipoff. This contest marks the second meeting of the season between the two programs; IUI won the first meeting in overtime, 96-93 in Indianapolis on Jan 15.
RMU LATELY
Despite a late-game push, Robert Morris fell short against Green Bay on Saturday, dropping a 71-67 decision at the UPMC Events Center. The Colonials were led by
DeSean Goode, who notched his eighth double-double of the year with 17 points and 12 boards.
Ryan Prather Jr. hit four triples and finished with 14 points and two steals.
IU INDY LATELY
IU Indy eclipsed the century mark last Wednesday in a 103-85 win at Oakland. Finley Woodward led the way by matching his career-high with 22 points and nine assists, while Kyler D'Augustino set the tone early with an 18-point first half (21 total). The win was IU Indy's first road victory in Rochester since 2020 and featured a balanced attack with three players scoring at least 20 points. The Jaguars arrive in Moon Township with extra rest, as their scheduled matchup on Jan. 25 against Purdue Fort Wayne was postponed due to inclement weather and travel conditions; that contest has since been rescheduled for Feb. 28.
RMU AND IU INDY HISTORY
Although Robert Morris joined the Horizon League for the 2020-21 season, the programs did not meet on the hardwood until Feb. 5, 2022, after the inaugural matchups were canceled due to COVID-19 protocols. In the 10 games played since that initial meeting, RMU holds a 7-3 all-time advantage and remains a perfect 4-0 against the Jaguars at the UPMC Events Center. While Robert Morris has been led by Andy Toole for all 10 matchups in the series, IU Indy has featured three different head coaches across those same contests (Matt Crenshaw, Paul Corsaro, and current coach Ben Howlett).
RMU AND IU INDY LAST TIME OUT
IU Indy edged Robert Morris 96–93 in an overtime thriller on Jan. 15 in The Jungle, led by a game-high 28 points from Kyler D'Augustino and a 25-point, 11-rebound double-double from Jaxon Edwards. The Colonials featured a balanced attack in the loss, headlined by 21 points from
Ryan Prather Jr. and 20 points from
DeSean Goode.
IT'S ALL GOODE
Goode faces his former team in today's matchup against IU Indy. After earning Horizon League All-Freshman Team honors with the Jaguars last season, Goode transferred to RMU and has become a primary offensive force. Through 22 games this season, he is averaging a team-high 15.1 points and 9.1 rebounds per game while shooting an efficient 62.8% from the field.
VIEWING INFORMATION
The game air on SportsNet Pittsburgh and will stream on ESPN+. Chris Shovlin and Jim Elias will be on the call.
