BOSTON – RMU men's hockey defenseman
Dominic Elliott was named Atlantic Hockey America Defenseman of the Week, while goaltender
Lucas Massie earned Goaltender of the Week honors, as announced by the conference Tuesday.
Elliott and Massie were both pivotal in RMU's series sweep of Holy Cross at Clearview Arena this past weekend, helping the Colonials secure back-to-back victories.
Elliott led RMU in scoring over the two-game set, recording three assists from the blue line. In the series opener against the Crusaders, he dished out two helpers, marking the seventh multi-point game of his collegiate career. He followed that performance with a secondary assist on the game-winning goal in Saturday's 1-0 victory.
Defensively, Elliott was just as impactful, blocking 14 shots over the weekend as RMU limited Holy Cross to just two goals across the two contests.
Massie continued his strong and steady play in net, stopping 57 of 59 shots faced during the series. He posted a .966 save percentage and a 1.00 goals-against average on the weekend.
In Saturday's series finale, Massie turned aside all 33 shots he faced to earn his second shutout of the season, while extending his winning streak to three games.
With Elliott's and Massie's selections, RMU now has five conference award winners during the 2025–26 season. Those honorees include:
Michael Craig – Defenseman of the Month
Tanner Klimpke – Forward of the Week
Dominic Elliott – Defenseman of the Week
Lucas Massie – Goaltender of the Week
Charlie Schenkel – Rookie of the Week
Up next, RMU continues its homestand with a two-game series against Bentley. The series opener is set for Friday, January 30 at 7:00 PM, followed by the finale on Saturday, January 31 at 7:00 PM. Both games will stream live on FloHockey.
