BOSTON – RMU men's hockey junior captain
Michael Craig has been named the Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) Defenseman of the Month, as announced by the conference office.
The honor marks the second conference recognition of Craig's career, as he was previously named AHA Defenseman of the Week.
Craig recorded at least one point in each of the three games he appeared in during December, totaling three assists from the blue line. His steady offensive production was part of a career-best five-game point streak spanning late November into December, during which he posted two goals and four assists.
In addition to his offensive contributions, Craig continued to anchor the Colonials defensively throughout the month, blocking three shots and registering four shots on goal.
A native of St. Catharines, Ontario, Craig has appeared in 87 career games for RMU, compiling eight goals, 33 assists and 41 total points.
Craig's monthly honor is the third conference accolade for RMU this season. Earlier in the campaign,
Tanner Klimpke was named AHA Forward of the Week, while
Charlie Schenkel earned Rookie of the Week recognition.
Up next, the Colonials head to Rochester, N.Y. for a two-game road series against RIT. Puck drop for game one is set for Friday, January 9 at 7:00 PM, followed by the series finale on Saturday, January 10 at 5:00 PM. Both games will stream live on FloHockey.
