BOSTON – RMU women's hockey forward Jessica MacKinnon was named Atlantic Hockey America Forward of the Week for the third time this season, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
 
The honor marks MacKinnon's fourth conference award of the season, as she was also recognized as AHA Forward of the Month earlier this year.
 
MacKinnon turned in multi-point performances in both games of RMU's weekend series sweep over Delaware. In the series opener, she recorded a goal and an assist, before erupting for a career-high four assists in Saturday's offensive showcase.
 
She finished the weekend with six points. It marks the second time this season MacKinnon has totaled six points over a weekend, previously accomplishing the feat in December against LIU with two goals and four assists. In four games against Delaware this season, she compiled four goals, eight assists, and 12 points.
 
MacKinnon was also dominant in the faceoff circle, winning 27 of 39 draws (69.2 percent) against the Blue Hens.
 
Through 32 games this season, the Clarks Harbour, Nova Scotia native leads the Colonials in goals (14), assists (22), points (36), plus/minus (+18), and power-play goals (4). Among AHA skaters, she ranks in the top five in goals, assists, and points.
 
With MacKinnon's latest honor, RMU has now collected 10 weekly or monthly awards this season, including:

Up next, the Colonials will host Lindenwood for a two-game series at Clearview Arena. Game one is scheduled for Friday, February 13 at 7:00 PM, followed by game two on Saturday, February 14 at 1:00 PM.
 
Friday's contest will feature the Teddy Bear Toss and Skate with the Colonials postgame, while Saturday is Senior Day with a pregame ceremony honoring RMU's seniors. Both games will stream live on SportsNet Pittsburgh and FloHockey.
