2/12/2026 6:30:00 PM

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – The RMU women's hockey team closes out the 2025-26 regular season this weekend as it hosts Lindenwood for a pivotal Atlantic Hockey America (AHA) series at Clearview Arena. The series opener is set for Friday, February 13 at 7:00 PM, followed by the finale on Saturday, February 14 at 1:00 PM. Both games will stream live on SportsNet Pittsburgh and FloHockey with commentary from Gero von Dehn and Bob Kennedy.

RMU LATELY
RMU (12-18-2, 8-12-2 AHA) is coming off an impressive series sweep over Delaware at Clearview Arena. The Colonials claimed a 3-2 victory in the opener before erupting for a 6-0 shutout win in the finale.

Sophomore Jessica MacKinnon powered the offense with a dominant weekend, totaling one goal and five assists for six points. Senior Morgan Giannone added two goals and two assists, while captain Alaina Giampietro recorded two goals and one assist. Defenseman Emma Goding contributed one goal and two assists from the blue line. Also, Laura Eustace and Kaitlyn Schooley each scored in their 100th career game in the series finale.

In goal, Maggie Hatch secured both wins, making 42 saves across the two games, including a shutout in Saturday's 6-0 victory. The clean sheet marked her sixth shutout of the season, tying the program record for shutouts in a single season.

AROUND THE AHA
MacKinnon continues to rank among the top five in the conference in goals, assists and total points. Giampietro, now with 14 goals, also sits inside the top five in that category. MacKinnon's 446 faceoff wins not only lead the AHA but rank first in the nation.

On the defensive side, sophomore Shayne Desjardins ranks second in the conference with 80 blocked shots. Between the pipes, Hatch sits second in the league in shutouts and ranks fourth in both save percentage (.924) and goals-against average (2.29).

ALL-TIME VS. LINDENWOOD
RMU holds a 39-10-3 advantage in the all-time series against the Lions. Earlier this season in St. Charles, Mo., the Colonials captured five of six possible points, earning a 3-0 victory before skating to a 2-2 tie and securing the extra point with a 2-0 shootout win.

In the 3-0 win, Mya Kearns scored her first collegiate goal, while MacKinnon and Rowyn Ringor each tallied on the power play. In game two, MacKinnon and Giampietro found the back of the net. Defenseman Linnea Misner recorded two assists in the series, while Kearns (1g, 1a) and Giannone (2a) each contributed in both contests.

SCOUTING THE LIONS
Lindenwood (11-19-2, 9-12-1 AHA) enters the weekend after being swept by No. 4 Penn State.

Offensively, Molly Henderson, Tatiana Blichova and Zsofia Pazmandi each pace the team with 26 points, with Henderson leading the Lions with 14 goals.

Defensively, Josey Dunne-Weeks has blocked 62 shots this season. In net, senior Lexington Secretro has appeared in 23 games and owns a .921 save percentage with eight wins and two shutouts.

As a team, Lindenwood averages 2.4 goals per game while allowing 3.3 goals per contest. The Lions' power play is converting at 13.6%, and their penalty kill sits at 78.8%. They have won 47.7% of their faceoffs through 32 games.

PLAYOFF OUTLOOK
RMU currently sits sixth in the AHA standings with 27 conference points, trailing Lindenwood (30), Syracuse (31) and RIT (32). With two games remaining, the Colonials remain in contention to climb as high as third in the standings. A weekend sweep over Lindenwood would move RMU past the Lions in the conference table.

Under the postseason format, the sixth seed faces the seventh seed in the opening round, with the matchup hosted by the third seed. The winner advances to face the No. 3 seed, while the No. 4 seed hosts the No. 5 seed in the quarterfinal round.
