RMU Women's Basketball Closes Out Regular Season at Home Against Wright State

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The Colonials will return home to the UPMC Events Center to close out the regular season against Wright State on Saturday afternoon following the men's game. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m., and the contest will be streamed live. Following the conclusion of the game, RMU will honor its senior class.
 
RMU LATELY
RMU remains in the hunt to host a home game in the first round of the 2026 Barbasol Horizon League Women's Basketball Championship. The Colonials currently sit at a 17-11 overall record and a 10-9 record in conference play, remaining in sixth place behind Purdue Fort Wayne.
 
The Colonials are coming off a 1-1 week, picking up a 66-55 win over Milwaukee before dropping a Saturday afternoon contest to Oakland, 71-61 on the road. Eva Levingston had a big week for the Colonials, averaging 21.0 points per game, which was ranked fourth in the league. Levingston also contributed with 8.0 rebounds per contest and shot 68% on the week.
 
Aislin Malcolm and Myriam Traore continue to lead the offensive attack for the Colonials, with Malcolm averaging 12.0 points per game while Traore is averaging 11.5 points per contest. On the boards, Levingston remains RMU's leader in rebounding, pulling down an average of 6.5 rebounds per game. 
 
RMU AND WSU HISTORY
This Saturday will mark the 17th matchup between RMU and Wright State since 1988. In the overall series, RMU has won 10 of the 16 matchups, which features a 5-2 record at home. Coming into the contest, the Colonials have a three-game winning streak over the Raiders and have won seven of the last 10 matchups. Since coach McCabe took over the RMU women's basketball program, the Colonials haven't lost to Wright State.
 
LAST TIMEOUT
The pair first met this season back on Jan. 24, 2026, with the Colonials picking up a commanding 74-53 win over the Raiders. Myriam Traore led the way for RMU, posting a game-high 22 points, which included six made threes, while Ava Leroux set a new career-high with 19 points along with eight rebounds. From the floor, RMU shot nearly 50%, shooting 48.1% on the night. The Colonials also controlled the glass, dominating the Raiders 43-26 on the boards. Wright State was led by Lauren Scott, who recorded 15 points in the loss.
 
SCOUTING WRIGHT STATE
Wright State will head to Moon Township with a 10-20 overall record and a 6-13 record against Horizon League opponents. The Raiders' most recent matchup ended in an 81-55 loss for Wright State against Cleveland State on Wednesday night. WSU is currently the ninth seed heading into the conference tournament next week, but could either move up to eighth-place or fall to the 10-seed.
 
Despite the loss, Claire Henson finished with a season-high 20 points to lead the Raiders. Henson finished the contest with a career-high 10 made field goals on 16 attempts while also leading the Raiders in rebounds (7), assists (3), steals (1), and blocks (1).

Looking at Horizon League statistics, Wright State's offense is ranked seventh, just ahead of RMU, with the Raiders averaging 66.0 points per game, while their defense is ranked ninth, with the team allowing opponents to average 69.7 points per game. Wright State is the conference's best three-point shooting team, with the Raiders shooting 34.2% from beyond the arc and having made 238 on the season, averaging 7.9 per game. Breezie Williams leads the Raiders in scoring, averaging 12.8 per game, while Henson leads in the rebounding category with 6.4 per game.
