BOSTON – The RMU women's hockey team duo of sophomore
Jessica MacKinnon and freshman
Linnea Misner earned postseason accolades from Atlantic Hockey America, the league office announced Wednesday.
MacKinnon put together a breakout sophomore campaign for the Colonials, earning a spot on the All-AHA First Team. The Clarks Harbour, Nova Scotia native emerged as one of the premier forwards in the conference and across the nation.
She finished the 2025-26 regular season with 15 goals and a team-best 26 assists for 41 points, while also leading RMU in plus/minus (+14), power-play goals (5) and game-winning goals (3). Her assist and point totals both ranked second overall in Atlantic Hockey America.
MacKinnon was equally dominant in the faceoff circle, leading the nation with 519 faceoff wins. She recorded 11 multipoint performances throughout the season, highlighted by a career-high five-point outing against LIU on Dec. 13. Her consistent play earned her AHA Forward of the Week honors three times and Forward of the Month recognition once during the 2025-26 campaign.
Misner, a Springfield, Manitoba native, made an immediate impact on the blue line in her first collegiate season, earning recognition for the All-AHA Rookie Team. The freshman defenseman scored four goals and paced all RMU defensemen with 15 assists and 19 points.
She concluded her rookie campaign with a +4 rating, one power-play goal and 46 blocked shots, anchoring the Colonials' defensive corps while contributing offensively. Misner recorded four multipoint efforts during the season, including a goal and two assists in her collegiate debut — tying the program record for points in a first career game.
Her strong freshman season was recognized twice with AHA Rookie of the Week honors.
