One of two rookies to take home the Peoples Natural Gas RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 26, 2018, is freshman running back Alijah Jackson of the football squad. In a 49-46 setback @ Bryant (9/22) in RMU’s 2018 Northeast Conference opener, Jackson finished with 109 yards rushing and two touchdowns on 27 carries, an average of 4.0 yards per carry. He also added two receptions for 27 yards, helping Jackson compile 136 yards from scrimmage. He posted a one-yard touchdown run in the second quarter, and his two-yard plunge with 6:11 to go in the third quarter trimmed RMU’s deficit to 42-31. For his efforts, Jackson, a native of Paramus, N.J., was selected as the NEC Rookie of the Week (9/24). In four games, Jackson has posted 63 carries for 249 yards and two scores. He is averaging 4.0 yards per attempt.
