Fifth-year forward Kahliel Spear of the men’s basketball team is the recipient of the Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Male Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 23, 2022. He shares the accolade with junior offensive lineman Hayden Baron from football. Spear, a native of The Colony, Texas, notched his first double-double of the 2022-23 campaign @ No. 21/23 Dayton (11/19/22), finishing with 11 points and 11 rebounds in a team-high 36 minutes. In addition to notching an assist, Spear shot 5-for-13 from the field and of his 11 caroms, five came on the offensive glass. For Spear, it marked the 10th double-double of his career with the Colonials, as well as the fifth time he’s eclipsed double figures in rebounds. Spear enters the Hostilo Hoops Community Classic after Thanksgiving in Savannah, Ga., averaging 9.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game.
