Earning the first Chick-fil-A Robinson RMU Female Student-Athlete of the Week of 2023 is sophomore guard Alejandra Mastral of the basketball team. In a two-game swing through the Wolverine State, Mastral, a native of Zaragoza, Spain, averaged 13.5 points, 3.0 assists and 4.0 steals while shooting 55 percent (11-for-20) from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 at the free-throw line. In recording double-figure scoring efforts in back-to-back games for the first time during the 2022-23 season, Mastral opened the swing with 12 points, four assists and three steals @ Oakland (1/5/23). Two days later @ Detroit Mercy (1/7/23), Mastral set career highs in points (15) and steals (5) while handing out a pair of helpers. She also grabbed seven rebounds over the course of the two games. Overall in 14 games for the Colonials this season, each as a member of the starting lineup, Mastral is averaging 6.6 points and leads RMU in thefts with 26.
