Moon Township, Pa. ? The Robert Morris University men's ice hockey team completed its fourth annual Blue/White game Wednesday morning with the Blue squad skating to a 6-2 victory.
The Blue squad took a commanding 4-0 lead in the first period of the two period contest. Sophomore Kyle Frieday (Burlington, Ontario / Oakville Blades) scored three of his four goals in the first session. Freshman Brandon Gay (Calgary, Alberta / Drayton Valley Thunder) and senior Joel Gasper (Crookston, Minn. / Billings Bulls) each notched a goal for the Blue team. Gay, Andrew Bonello (Brampton, Ontario / Milton Icehawks), Rafael Rodriguez (Oceanside, Calif. / Santa Fe Roadrunners) and Dave Cowan (Calgary, Alberta / Olds Grizzlys) all picked up assists for the Blue team.
Both of the White teams goals came in the second session of play with senior David Boguslawski (Cottage Grove, Minn. / Tri-City Storm) and freshman Scott Kobialko (Spruce Grove, Alberta / Camrose Kodiaks) scoring a goal each. Jeff Gilbert (Barrie, Ontario / Aurora Tigers) and Kyle Burton (Calgary, Alberta / Calgary Canucks) both assisted on Boguslawski's goal.
In net, senior goalie Christian Boucher (Orleans, Ontario / Cumberland Grads) allowed only one goal in 40 minutes of action.
"We did some very nice things today but we have a lot of work to do in preparation for our opening regular season game against #11 Boston University next Friday, said head coach Derek Schooley.” “ We are an experienced team that should be ready to play when the puck drops in our exhibition opener on Sunday against Ryerson."
