The Robert Morris University women's golf team is second at the four-team 2007 Holiday Inn Pittsburgh Airport Colonial Classic after a team-total 348 in the first round. This is the first year that the tournament is being held at Montour Heights Country Club, a tough layout playing at 6,025 yards and a par 72.
Danielle Greene of Toronto is pacing the field after posting a 74, including a one-under par 35 on the front nine holes. IUPUI leads the team standings at 328 and have all five of their players in the top seven. Robert Morris is second (348) followed closely by Toronto (349) and then Hampton (370).
Junior Melanie Ice (Beaver Falls, Pa. / Riverside) is tied for fourth with a first-round score of 83. Senior Heather Mulvaney (Greenwood, Ind. / Center Grove) is in 10th after an 87 followed by sophomore Ashleigh Frieday (Grand Island, N.Y. / Grand Island) who posted an 88.
Junior Lauren Lancia (Wexford, Pa. / North Allegheny) is tied for 10th after firing a 90 while Melissa Wenger (Middlebury, Ind. / Northridge) shot 96 and sits in 19th position.
Sophomore Sarah Davis (Wadsworth, Ohio / Wadsworth) is 14th with a 91 and sophomore Jacqueline Jurinko (McKeesport, Pa. / McKeesport) is 21st with a 93.
