Reichard Named to CoSIDA / ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team

Moon Township, Pa.?Senior Taryn Reichard (Harrisburg, Pa. / Central Dauphin), a defender on the Robert Morris University women's soccer team, was named to the CoSIDA / ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Women's Soccer First Team for the second straight year. Reichard boasts a 3.90 grade point average as a pre-med major at Robert Morris.

 

Reichard is a four-year starter for the Colonials, switching from central midfield to defense this season. Only five players in Robert Morris history have played in more games than her 72. Of those 72 games, she has started in 70. While taking a mainly defensive role in her four seasons, Reichard's only goal came as a sophomore against Sacred Heart in a 3-2 win.

 

Robert Morris is currently 6-9-2 overall and 3-3-1 in the Northeast Conference. With two games left in the regular season, the women's soccer program sits two points out of four place and their first-ever trip to the NEC Playoffs.

 

The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) selects Academic All-America teams in 12 programs: football, women's volleyball, men's soccer, women's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball, baseball, softball, men's track & field/cross country, women's track & field/cross country, men's at-large and women's at-large. To be nominated, the student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) for his/her career.
