Moon Township, Pa. - The Robert Morris University men's ice hockey team announced its 2007-08 schedule Tuesday afternoon, which is highlighted by a home-and-home series with Ohio State and a trip to the Nye Frontier Classic in Anchorage, Alaska. The Colonials will take on Boston University, an NCAA Tournament participant last season, in the Nye Frontier Classic, while the club is scheduled to play 14 games in Pittsburgh this upcoming season, 13 of those at the RMU Island Sports Center and another at Mellon Arena.
“We are once again excited about the Pittsburgh College Hockey Showcase game at Mellon Arena against Ohio State,” said head coach Derek Schooley. “Last year's game against Notre Dame was well attended and exciting for Robert Morris University.”
The Colonials will again this season play a 33-game schedule, including 20 College Hockey America games. In addition to those games, RMU will play two exhibition contests, hosting Ryerson on Oct. 7 and the U.S. National Under-18 Team on Feb. 23.
“Every year our schedule has gotten better and this year is no exception," said Schooley. “Our first six games of the season are going to be tough as we play two national tournament contenders in Boston University and Wisconsin along with Wayne State, who we had an 0-4 record against last season.”
