Moon Township, Pa. - Robert Morris University field hockey coach Olivia Netzler announced today the hiring of assistant coach Rachael Allison. Allison comes to the Colonials with experience in both playing and coaching field hockey. She also holds a teaching certification in Biology as well as a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Pittsburgh.
Allison's coaching experience consists of her being a camp coach at Messiah College. She was responsible for coaching the fundamentals of field hockey as well as introducing new techniques. She also was assigned to demonstrate defensive strategies.
Allison played collegiate field hockey at Messiah College and was a four-year starter at the right back position from the 2003 through 2006 seasons. While at Messiah College, she named top the NCAA All-Tournament Team and ranked third in the nation in defensive saves during the 2005-06 season.
