Louisville, Ky. ? Friday evening, the Robert Morris University field hockey team traveled to the University of Louisville to take on the Cardinals in its final non-conference matchup of the season. The Cardinal defense was able to shut down the Colonials and keep them without a single shot on goal.
Sixteen minutes into the first period, Louisville's Nikki Auker dribbled into the circle and hit a shot into the left side of the cage past Robert Morris goalkeeper, Stephanie Seeley (Louisville, Ky. / Ballard).
With four minutes left before the end of the half, Kayla May deflected a shot off of a penalty corner and into the cage to make the score 2-0 in favor of the Cardinals.
May tallied her second goal of the game when she tipped the ball off of a shot by Rachel Hollenbach to push a hard shot past Seeley.
Louisville outshot Robert Morris 19-0 and held a 11-0 advantage on penalty corners.
Seeley recorded seven saves in goal and Jessica Charles (Lancaster, Pa. / Lampeter-Strasberg) had one defensive save.
