New Britain, Conn. / CCSU Soccer Field-The Robert Morris University women's soccer team saw its 2009 season come to an end with a 4-0 loss at Central Connecticut State University Sunday afternoon. The Colonials finish the year with an 8-9-1 record, including a 4-5-1 mark in Northeast Conference play. Both win numbers tie the team's single season records.
Beth Lloyd scored the first two goals of the contest and added an assist later in the game to tally five points. Her markers in the 20th and 50th minutes gave the Blue Devils a comfortable lead. Leah Blayney scored in the 53rd minute before Erin Egan capped the scoring in the 72nd minute. Blayney also had two assists.
The host Blue Devils (11-6-2, 9-0-1 NEC) outshot the Colonials, 17-11, and finished the season unbeaten in conference play. Robert Morris freshman keeper Jessica Olin (New Port Richey, Fla. / River Ridge) had six saves while Caity Casey and Jamie Trayer combined for six saves and the shutout for CCSU.
