Colonials Finish 9th At 18-Team Bucknell Invitational

Lewisburg, Pa. / Bucknell University G.C. - The Robert Morris University women's golf team finished ninth at the 18-team, three-round Bucknell Women's Invitational over the weekend. The Colonials shots 33 in each of the first two rounds before finishing with a 324 for a 984 team total and a ninth-place showing.

The host Bison won the event with a team total 903. They were led by Katie Jurenovich who won a four-hole playoff after finishing with a three-round score of 221. William and Mary finished second (922), with Rutgers third (929) followed by Lehigh (931), Marshall (938), Radford (945), Siena (961), Oakland (970), Robert Morris (984), Seton Hall (987), Hofstra (988), Cleveland State (996), Saint Francis (Pa.) (1,002), Bucknell "Blue" (1,009), Kutztown (1,032), McDaniel (1,093), Navy (1,172) and St. Francis (N.Y.) (1,186).

Junior Elizabeth Wenger (Toledo, Ohio / Whitmer) and sophomore Jenna Rinker (Slippery Rock, Pa. / Slippery Rock) each finished with 241 totals. Wenger was the more consistent of the two, shooting 79-82-80 en route to a 31st place tie. Rinker opened with an 86 before recovering for a team-low 76 in the second and a 79 in the final round.

Sophomore Tess Wolfe (Beaver Falls, Pa. / Blackhawk) tied for 49th position after carding rounds of 79-86-84=249. Freshman Alee Everman (Dayton, Ohio / Circleville) signed for a score of 86 in each of the first two rounds before finding five strokes and a total of 81 for a 253 finish and a 56th place showing. Rookie Annie Bozich (Aliquippa, Pa. / Center) tied for 73rd overall, improving on an opening round 97 to shoot 87 and 88 for a 2727 total.
