Boca Raton, Fla. / FAU Soccer Stadium - Despite logging nearly 1,200 miles of travel on Friday, the Robert Morris University women's soccer team found enough energy to edge out Florida Atlantic, 1-0, Friday evening. The Colonials improve to 2-1-1 overall, capturing a victory in their first road game of the season, while the Owls remain winless at 0-3.
Junior forward Ayana Davis (Mt. Laurel, N.J. / Holy Cross) scored her second goal in as many games in the 22nd minute. The junior gained possession from the ball 30 yards from net and unleashed a bullet to the left post. Courtney Zwesch extended for the ball, but couldn't stop the Colonials forward from putting her squad up in the 22nd minute.
Sophomore goalkeeper Jessica Olin (New Port Richey, Fla. / River Ridge), who returned to her home state, stopped four shots to pick up her second shutout of the season and ninth of her career. Olin's next shutout will set a new team record for career shutouts, breaking the previous mark of 9.5.
The Colonials continue their Sunshine State swing by travelling to Florida International Sunday, September 5.
