Senior Spotlight Profile - Mallory Schulze

What most excites you about the upcoming season?

I am most excited about the amount of new talent in the coaching staff and incoming players that create a whole new atmosphere on and off the field.

What is the best thing about playing lacrosse at Robert Morris?

The best thing is the great friendships that were developed throughout the years that will last a lifetime.

What are your expectations for this season's team?

To come out every day and work our hardest to improve on what we've already accomplished and reach the goals we set for ourselves this year.

What is the most important thing to do in order prepare for the start of the preseason?

To get in the best shape possible so we are able to come out every day with as much intensity as possible to keep up with and excel past our competition.

As one of the team's more experienced players, what type of leader will you be?

I will be a positive and encouraging leader to help our team constantly improve.

How have you developed as a player since you first arrived at Robert Morris?

I have learned how to play the game at the fast pace of the collegiate level and developed into a leader on and off the field.

What advice would you give the freshman class heading into the start of preseason?

To try and stay on top of academics as much as possible because as we head into games and traveling the time goes quick and to enjoy every moment because it'll be worth all the hard work in the end.

What is the one thing you have really worked on from the end of last season to the start of the 2011 season?

The 2010 season was my first season back after an ACL surgery so my fitness and strength levels were a lot lower than usual. I've worked to improve both to be able to play my best this season and to avoid another injury.

What are some of the goals you have for yourself and for the Colonials this season?

To always work my hardest to help myself and my teammates to constantly improve to reach our team goals of winning the NECs.
